The Walking Dead Season 8 Has Andrew Lincoln All Hyped Up

AMC's The Walking Dead hasn't been in high spirits or ratings. The former being that there's a war, while the latter has to do with viewers still skeptical following its rather disastrous first half showing of season 7.

But if there's one spirit you can't really break, it would have to be lead actor Andrew Lincoln. In a quick interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln shared his feelings about the upcoming season.

"I can't wait. This is not hyperbole. This is not a cynical act to try and amp up enthusiasm for the hundredth episode in season 8, but I am genuinely more excited about this next episode and the following 15 than I've ever been in my life. I can't wait to get back."

From the looks of it, the energy is back, with our favorite mainstays ready to start bringing on their old selves. Lincoln added that this season would be the payoff for all the set-ups that the good part of season 7 went to.

"It's been a lot of placing the chess pieces and positioning and introducing key players in this landscape. And I think now we get to start really playing the game. the game is afoot, as they say."

Well, the seventh season did end up with characters in different places. And even if it seems like the show is asking fans to, once again, trust in its capability to deliver, then this might be a good start. At least we know we'll be watching still.
