The Walking Dead New Images & Video Hint Mainstays Who May Be Alive in Season 7

There's still less than three months until we all get that first episode out to reveal who gets Lucille to the head. But it seems that fans can cross out a few names from the proverbial potential victims after new images and a recent SDCC 2016 interview hinted at who's staying alive for the next season of The Walking Dead.

Let's start with the new promo images released via Entertainment Weekly. Two of them, seen below, show two characters who have been at odds with each other towards the end of season 6. There's Morgan, looking very much alive, albeit with some walkers nearby.

Carol also seems safe, though it didn't seem like she was in any real danger back in the lineup. More importantly. We see an image of Paul "Jesus" Monroe, so it feels like he'll be having a bigger role this season. There's also Negan with his trusty Lucille in hand. Capping off the more important images is Ezekiel on his throne, sans Shiva the tiger.

More importantly a new video featuring an interview with Kevin Smith may have hinted that one of the biggest names on that list may have actually survived. Seen below, the cast of The Walking Dead, including Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), Normal Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).

Smith asks if the panel sitting there was un-killable—with the exception of Morgan. There's a certain tension in the air before Reedus tells Morgan to reveal it, and in his words:

"No one sitting here."

As in no one sitting in the panel will die. One argument is that Yeun was sitting in the panel, so that supports the "Not Glenn" theory. But if you watch the video, the camera just zooms in on the three of them—Morgan, Reedus, and Lincoln, in the shot. Yeun is on the other side of Reedus, and he's not seen in the shot, but didn't see any standing movement either. Unless, Morgan was being coy about it, knowing that "here" means those that the audience can see in that particular shot.

Maybe that's reading too much into it but that laugh is just too teasing to let go. Although I am one of those in the "Not Glenn" camp.

Check out the entire video to check out some nice insights from the main trio of guys and Negan. The Walking Dead is airing on Oct. 23.
