Ahead of the special’s upcoming theatrical release, The Quintessential Quintuplets got two new visuals to mark the cinema run of the upcoming OVA.
Specifically, one of the two visuals is for the new EP that features the special opening and ending themes that will be used in the OVA. This visual is made by Aoi Umeki, the OVA’s ending animation director.
Meanwhile, the other illustration is made by series creator Negi Haruba. This visual was shared in the latest Weekly Shonen Magazine issue to mark the upcoming Japanese theatrical run.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Gets New Visual for OVA CD Release
The Quintessential Quintuplets anime concluded its story in the movie which was released last year, and it finally answered which Nakano sibling got together with Fuutarou.
Despite the anime’s story concluding, not all the stories from the manga were adapted into the anime.
This meant there was still more material to be adapted between Season 2 and the movie.
Because of this, coupled with the show’s continued popularity, an OVA special titled The Quintessential Quintuplets∽ was announced, and it will be released on TV soon.
Though before the TV broadcast, the OVA will first get a theatrical release in Japan for three weeks beginning later this week.
To mark this cinema release, a CD was released today in Japan featuring the new songs for the OVA.
On the cover is the new visual by Umeki featuring the Nakano siblings.
Aside from featuring the new songs, the CD also comes with a wide range of merch when bought with specific bundles in selected stores.

Series Creator Negi Haruba Illustrates the Nakano Sisters to Celebrate OVA Release
Along with the CD, manga creator Negi Haruba also shared his own illustration of the five Nakano siblings in the latest Weekly Shonen Magazine issue.
On top of the visual, the latest magazine issue also comes with a photo shoot of the anime’s voice actresses, including Kana Hanazawa (Ichika), Ayana Taketatsu (Nino), Miku Ito (Miku), Ayane Sakura (Yotsuba), and Inori Minase (Itsuki).
The Quintessential Quintuplets OVA will release in selected Japanese cinemas on July 14, 2023. It will be screened for three weeks.
Soon after its theatrical run, the OVA will get a TV broadcast, likely sometime in August or September 2023.
It’s expected that the OVA will also be streamed outside Japan sometime in Summer 2023.
