The Last of Us Episode 9 Already Featured First Look at Live-Action Abby

There is little doubt that The Last of Us Episode 9 was one of the best episodes of the series since it featured not one but two of the voice actors from the original video games. But did Look For The Light also offer a glimpse at an important character in the second season? Eagle-eyed fans believe that the season finale featured a brief look at the live-action version of Abby Anderson.

In The Last of Us Episode 9, Joel and Ellie finally found the Fireflies but their arrival didn't seem welcome at first as Joel gets knocked unconscious. When he awakens, Marlene tells him that Ellie will be operated on, removing the cordyceps cells from her brain in an effort to create a cure. Joel realizes the operation will kill the girl and decides to rescue her, killing any Firefly that tries to stop him.

During his rampage, Joel shoots at random people in the hospital. However, one of the Fireflies is shown running away and it appears she is wearing her hair in a familiar-looking braid.

It's only a brief look and we don't even get to see her face but fans are already convinced that the fleeing character is Abby. In The Last of Us Part II, it is revealed that Abby is the daughter of the doctor who was killed by Joel when he was trying to get Ellie out of the hospital. With that in mind, it would make sense that she is shown in the hospital scene in the TV series.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the character in the hospital scene is actually Abby. Still, we did get a better look at another "Abby" in The Last of Us Episode 9. Laura Bailey, who provides the character's voice in the video games, has confirmed that she was one of the nurses prepping Ellie for surgery.

The Last of Us Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date.
