We're getting another episode of The Last of Us this Sunday and the first images from Episode 6 offer a glimpse at some new faces and one that we have missed for a long time. The photos from Kin confirm the return of a character who has been missing for several episodes and promise a wonderful reunion with Joel.
Warner Media shared the stills from The Last of Us Episode 6 which offer our first look at Rutina Wesley as Maria, a woman who leads a settlement in Jackson, Wyoming. In the game, she also happens to be in a relationship with Joel's estranged brother Tommy.
The images seem to confirm that Joel and Ellie finally make it to Wyoming where they find Tommy who was last seen in the premiere episode. One of the pictures does feature a happy reunion between the brothers.
Although it's clear that Joel and Tommy are happy to be reunited, there could also be some trouble for the brothers. Another photo shows Pedro Pascal and Gabriel Luna looking grim. We won't spoil why the two are arguing but it should make for an interesting scene in The Last of Us Episode 6.
Tommy was first introduced in the premiere episode of the show although all of his scenes were set in the past. From there, Tommy is only referenced in the next episodes as Joel tries to contact him then ultimately decides to look for his brother in Wyoming. The series pretty much confirms that Joel and Tess wouldn't have met Ellie if they weren't looking for Tommy.
The Last of Us Episode 6 is titled Kin and is directed by Jasmila Žbanić based on the screenplay written by Craig Mazin. There is a huge possibility that the episode will feature the viral rabbit scene from the original game. The next episode will premiere on HBO Max on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
