What Happened Before The Last of Us Episode 6?
The Last of Us Episode 5, Endure and Survive, it starts with Kansas City's revolutionary movement being successful as they overturn the rule of FEDRA all over the city. Violence is everywhere and people started killing off FEDRA members on the streets.
Henry and Sam, however, are on the run. They continue to hide from the people of Kathleen, who, in turn, gathered up all the residents who were informants to FEDRA. She really talks calmly, but her words are sharper than knives. Kathleen threatens the informants to give Henry's location.
One of them speaks up in hopes of living and just serving time but as soon as Kathleen got information, she orders her men to kill all the informants while she plots her next move. Meanwhile, Henry and Sam bumps into the doctor who gave them a temporary shelter.
Their food will only last of 11 days, maximum, so by the tenth day, the doctor went out for food but he never returned. As Henry and Sam are about to leave, they hear a commotion, the one where Ellie and Joel were in in the previous episode and Henry saw how good Joel shoots.
Henry and Sam follow where Joel and Ellie camped, thus, the scene at the end of Episode 4, and they end up with a deal to trust each other, even to the point where Joel and Ellie shares a meal to the brothers where they get to know each other.
The following day, Henry proposes to Joel a plan for their escape from the city through the underground tunnels. People didn't go there because Kansas City was cleared of the infected because FEDRA drew them to the underground. Henry was informed by FEDRA that it was already cleared.
Despite being hesitant, Joel pushes through because there's no other plan, right? Well, it is true, after all! The underground is actually cleared and they even find a settlement from the start of the outbreak to rest and it is where Ellie and Sam get to play and bond over a comic book.
Both of them loves the comic book, even reciting its line, "Endure and survive." Meanwhile, Joel and Henry get to talk about things and Henry reveals to Joel why he is the most wanted man in Kansas City: he ratted out Kathleen's brother to FEDRA in exchange for the leukemia medicines of Sam.
Henry gets a read a Joel, too, because he knew that while Joel may not be the father of Ellie, he was a father of someone else. Since Joel seems to be allergic to those kinds of conversations, he decides that it is time to continue with the tunnels.
Out in the open, they finally get through the tunnels but unbeknownst to them, there is a sniper on the lookout who shoots them. Joel takes him out and realizes that the sniper radios to Kathleen and her army which is not too far away.
Kathleen's people arrive and Joel knows better than to run away so he keeps shooting until Ellie, Sam, and Henry are in the clear. Joel gets a bullseye at the driver that's clearing out the road for the trucks of Kathleen's army and that truck hits a house then explodes.
Kathleen taunts Henry and Henry entrusts Sam to Ellie because Henry knew that he could save Sam through giving himself up. Just in time, the infected comes out of the rubble of the truck that exploded and there are hundreds, if not, thousands of them!
This gives Ellie, Sam, and Henry the chance to escape but they have to outrun the infected. Kathleen's people start shooting but they are outnumbered. Then, much to the surprise of everyone, a super infected comes out, a bloater, which is really hard to kill.
Ellie gets chased by an infected but Joel looks out for her while at a vantage point, Ellie goes into a car where the infected could not get to her, or so she thought because a child clicker gets through it and Ellie is forced to evacuate.
Outside, Ellie sees Sam and Henry trying to evade the infected by taking shelter under a car but they need help because the clickers are pulling them out. Ellie saves them but as they run away, Kathleen stops them. Oh, the child clicker turns out to be a savior who kills Kathleen.
Joel, Ellie, Henry, and Sam run far back where they hole up in a motel. Joel invites Henry to stick with them through their journey while Sam and Ellie are enjoying over a comic book in their room. While talking, Sam reveals something to Ellie -- he was scratched by a clicker!
Ellie knows that she is immune to the infection so she tries to save Sam through applying her blood to his scratch, praying that it will be effective on others as it is effective on her.
The next morning, however, Ellie's plan did not work and they all wake up to Ellie panicking because Sam is attacking her. Henry's survival instincts gets to him first without thinking so he shoots Sam and when he realizes it, Henry takes his own life.
Joel and Ellie bury the dead and before leaving, Ellie leaves the notepad of Sam over his grave with the words, "I'm sorry," written on it. Immediately, Joel knows what Ellie meant and they continue heading west.

The Last of Us Episode 6 Spoilers, Theories, and Leaks
Episode 5 has closed off the Kansas City detour of Joel and Ellie which did not end as good as they thought it would go after the death of Henry and Sam and the next episode takes them west. The Last of Us Episode 6 preview shows the much awaited reunion between Joel and Tommy.
The preview shows Ellie and Joel talking over what happened and Ellie explains that she tried to save Sam because she wants to but Joel tries to reason with Ellie that things do not work that way.
It cuts to Joel and Ellie riding horses somewhere in an icy tundra where Joel finally sees Tommy. Joel is so excited, he hugs his brother right away. Then, it cuts to the scene where Joel reasons with Tommy about their past when they murdered people.
A woman tells Ellie to "Be careful who you put your faith in," seemingly warning her about Joel, and the woman continues, "The only people who can betray us are the ones we trust," where the scene cuts to a chase and Joel seems to be protecting Ellie.
It seems that things will not be ending up the way they want to with their trip to Wyoming because it shows Joel and Ellie running away on a horse while Ellie shoots something behind her.
The preview is enough to show that both of them arrives at Wyoming and they see Tommy but things may be going sideways because Tommy looks like he is struggling with his moral compass, his need to be like a hero which is what Joel always knew about him.
While Ellie gets a message about trust, she is one spunky girl and hard-headed, and since being with Joel, she ahs always been safe or at least close to it, so it's safe to assume that the people of Tommy wouldn't be able to sway her decision to stay with Joel.
By the last scene, where Joel and Ellie are running away on a horse, it's not clear who Ellie is shooting but it could only be two: clickers or people, and they have a huge bag so they may be packed and could have scavenged some stock on their way out.
The Last of Us Episode 6 seems promising but it may make it or break it for Joel especially with the perspective of his brother being like that, but as always, it's better to wait out the whole episode and see what happens!
