The Flash Movie Runtime Reportedly Fourth Longest DCU Film

DC Studios boss James Gunn will soon be driving the new DC slate, which begins with the Ezra Miller-led film, The Flash.

The upcoming DCU film will finally introduce the multiverse in the franchise, starring Miller as the titular character experiencing it firsthand.

The Flash is set to focus on the DC hero having left the task of saving the world not just in his own reality, but multiple realities as the multiverse brings chaos to his timeline.

Now, while the DCU film is still two months away, a new report has revealed that The Flash is potentially going to be a long one, runtime-wise.

While answering a DC fan’s question, insider KC Walsh claims The Flash will be running at 2 hours and 30 minutes long, pitting the film as the fourth longest DCU movie of all time.

However, The Flash Film News was quick to address Walsh’s initial runtime report by saying the movie will be “shorter” than 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It is important to take this with a grain of salt for now, but considering how DCU and MCU films usually run around the same 2-hour figure, the detail lies in how many minutes longer or shorter The Flash is.

The runtime is definitely up to speed, considering the most recent DCU films rival The Flash's: Shazam! Fury of the Gods at 2 hours and 10 minutes, while Black Adam (2022) ran at 2 hours and 5 minutes.

There is no denying that the longer a superhero film is, the better it is bound to be.

In the case of The Flash, introducing the multiverse for the entire DCU to circle on would be difficult to accomplish in less than two hours.

The future of the DCU rests on The Flash’s shoulders, after all, especially since the film is resetting the entire franchise, giving way to Gunn’s new DC slate.

DC’s The Flash is expected to premiere in theaters on June 16. In the meantime, you can check out more details about the film here.
