Warning: if you haven't seen the premiere episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, this article contains major spoilers so read at your own risk!

Ever since it was confirmed that Helmut Zemo will be making his shocking return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been wondering when and how exactly he will turn up in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and what his true motivations will be. Now, while it's safe to assume that he's out for revenge against the Avengers, especially Bucky Barnes, leaked set photos from last year seemed to tease a brief team-up scene featuring him, The Falcon, and the former Winter Soldier.

Episode 2's may have actually hinted that both Sam and Bucky could be teaming up with the cunning Zemo and we could see it go down as early as next week's episode. During the closing moments of "The Star-Spangled Man", we finally get a glimpse of Daniel Brühl aka Baron Zemo who is locked inside a prison.

Barnes later told Wilson about his plans of meeting up with Zemo after finding out that John Walker himself seems to have zero leads about the Flag-Smashers and their whereabouts. While it wasn't exactly directly specified, it doesn't take a genius to know that it's obviously in relation to how the group of Anti-Nationalist individuals got themselves a dose of the super serum formula which makes them nearly invincible. Now, the question is, will Bucky and Sam be responsible for breaking Zemo out of prison setting up his return in the most unusual way possible?

Assuming that Sam, Bucky, and Zemo actually end up on the same page, the real question is how long will the potential alliance last before Helmut goes back to his villainous ways? And what would happen when he and Bucky cross paths anew? The idea of him trying to manipulate Barns once again isn't exactly out of the question and given that Bucky is still haunted by his nightmares, it could very well indicate that he's still vulnerable to Hydra's brainwashing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
