The Falcon And The Winter Soldier premiered on Disney+ with the first episode being the introduction of all the necessary elements that the show would need to move forward. The premiere establishes where Sam and Bucky are, their life after the blip, and various new characters worth pondering on.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set after the "Blip," as what the snap of Thanos is now termed, and where everyone is still trying to get back on their feet in ways that they know of. The series will follow Sam and Bucky in their life beyond being heroes and how they will reconcile who takes on the mantle of Captain America and carry on the legacy the shield brings.

Disney+ is the official and exclusive home of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier where the canon series would be releasing all six episodes of the series weekly, every Friday, at 3 AM. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, however, is not safe for kids as it is rated 16+ for the scenes of violence that it will have as an action-packed series. Disney+ has a series that can be streamed in 4k.

Although the first episode seems slow, it establishes all the important points that the series would be needed to lay out all the necessary story arcs that the series will be taking on. Given that it only has six episodes, the series laid it all out in one drop. It is expected that as the series goes, the questions that arose in episode 1 will be answered in the succeeding episodes.

The first episode is titled "New World Order" and it opened with Sam preparing himself for some kind of event with his conversation with Steve Rogers while passing him down the shield is reverberating in the background as Steve asks him how he feels about the shield and how Sam replied he feels like the shield belongs to someone else.

The scene cuts through Sam being The Falcon in a supposed-to-be-subtle-but-not-so-subtle mission of saving a member of the US Air Force whose plane was hijacked by a familiar face, Bartoc the Leader, who first debuted in the MCU as the one who hijacked a ship only to face Captain America and Black Widow. (Wow, he must've had a hobby in the hijacking, eh?)

Joaquin is introduced as the eyes of Sam on the ground while in the rescue mission which turned out to be successful. Joaquin shares to Sam that a group called the Flag-Smashers is rising where the lawless group wanted the world to be one without borders, where everyone would be free to cross wherever they want to. Sam told him to keep him posted about what happens.

Sam, no surprise, donated the shield to the government, to the Smithsonian museum, where all the memorabilia of Captain America is. He said that the shield's symbol is more than that, it is the person wielding it that made it possible. He indicated that the shield belongs to Captain America who has practiced posing stoically. (Real funny, man.)

Sam went back home, to his nephews and sister, Sarah, who seems to be struggling financially as she talks about selling the boat where they grew up in. The five-year blip seems to have taken a toll on her and their family as they took various loans only to keep up with the losses. Sam didn't want to sell the boat and tried everything in his power to keep their house and boat afloat but to no avail, as the bank refused them.

On the other hand, Bucky is struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder where he still gets nightmares about his time being HYDRA's hitman. It was revealed that he was being pardoned, and as a condition of the pardon, he has to go through therapy. His psychiatrist told him that he need not carry the weight alone and that he has to let help in.

Bucky seems to have been making amends with those he has wronged as part of his therapy to help alleviate the burden he has been carrying. One of those is Mr. Nakashima who is later revealed to be the father of a casualty of The Winter Soldier. Bucky befriends him and they go out to lunch together as they seem to have close ages.

In the restaurant where they eat, Mr. Nakashima booked Bucky a date with the waitress of the place. Bucky revealed he never had a date since 1943 and he might not know what to do. Still, he managed to pull it off at first where he gave flowers to her and she called it an "old-fashioned thing." (Nice tricks from an old guy, no?) Their conversation was from Bucky's online dating to how Mr. Nakashima never recovered from his son's death.

On the other side of the world, Joaquin followed the Flag-Smashers and infiltrated them pretending to be one. Joaquin was smart enough to film it secretly. (Cool thinking, bro) The leader had just robbed a bank and he seemed to be a superpowered individual, someone that has improvements as he appears to be super strong.

The episode ended with a revelation: the government has a new Captain America.
