The Book of Boba Fett Teaser Confirms the Return of Slave I

There is little doubt that The Book of Boba Fett will bring back the former bounty hunter and his new friend Fennec Shand. However, there's another controversial Star Wars legend that will return in the highly anticipated Disney+ series. A new teaser for the Mandalorian spin-off show confirms that we will be seeing the previously-renamed Slave I this December. Interestingly, we might also learn what happened to the starship while Boba was still stuck in that Sarlacc Pit!

The new The Book of Boba Fett teaser is titled Reign and it features mostly the same footage we have already seen in the trailer. However, there's a new scene that shows Boba and Fennec walking into a dark hangar and finding the abandoned Slave I. Although it's possible that this scene is set in the present, it looks more like a flashback sequence.

In the scene, Boba is still wearing his dark cloak and the staff he has been using when he first met Mando in The Mandalorian Season 2. That means he doesn't have his armor yet, which was something he procured from Mando in the series.

But what happened to Slave I while Boba was still in the Sarlacc Pit? There is a possibility that someone took the starship. However, Boba may have gotten help from Fennec in tracking down his ship so they can go after Mando and retrieve his armor. Hopefully, we'll get to learn how it all went down later this year.

Slave I has had its own controversy this year. The starship was famously renamed by Disney, as revealed by a LEGO set that simply referred to it as "Boba Fett's Starship." However, a Star Wars comic book has since given it the name Firespray. Personally, it will always be Slave I in our hearts.

The Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals. The series airs on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
