For those craving more Taisho Otome Fairy Tale content, the anime show is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Sana Kirioka. Oddly marketed toward the shonen demographic, it was serialized in Shueisha's Jump Square from 2015 until 2017. To this day, there are 5 volumes. The Taisho Otome Fairy Tale manga is a rather short one. It is complete at just 5 volumes, keeping the story short and sweet. This means that the 12-episode anime is likely to cover the manga in its entirety. After all, anime episodes often cover as many as 3-5 anime chapters. Therefore, there's plenty of space to adapt the whole story.

Of course, there will always be fans who will want more content. At the same time, being able to enjoy a finished product is quite refreshing. Many manga series go on endlessly, with long hiatus periods. Similarly, many anime will only begin adapting a manga without ever finishing the job. Epic works have their own sort of charm, but a shorter story can be a pleasant change.

For the uninitiated, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale follows Shima Tamahiko, son of a noble family in the 1920s: Japan's Taisho era. After crippling his dominant arm in the accident that killed his mother, Tamahiko's father exiles him in a faraway family property. There Tamahiko expects to die alone.

Soon after, he's joined by Yuzuki, a girl whose indebted parents sent her to be Tamahiko's future bride. This could have been a very squeaky concept, a fact that the show and manga thankfully acknowledge, making it clear that, even as the characters slowly fall in love, there won't be a true romantic connection until later.

The anime is quite upbeat, with historical elements that make it interesting and fun to watch. Similar shows you might enjoy include The Duke of Death and His Maid, and Fruits Basket.
