So far, the show has been developing slowly, giving us both main characters' emotional baggage and elements of everyday life and problems in the Taisho era in Japan. So, how many episodes is Taisho Otome Fairy Tale going to have?

First, a short overview: Taisho Otome Fairy Tale follows Shima Tamahiko, a 17-year-old boy. While his family is rich and he hasn't lacked for anything, Tamahiko grew up without parental tenderness. When an accident kills Tamahiko's mother and permanently cripples Tamahiko's dominant arm, his father makes a cruel decision.

Namely, the head of the Shima family banishes Tamahiko in a faraway rural property he owns. Once there, a depressed Tamahiko loses all hope for the future. His mental health deteriorates, and he fully expects to die alone.

This all changes when a teenage girl, Yuzuki, appears at his door. Yuzuki explains that her parents were indebted to the Shima family. As they were unable to pay back, they sold her off to Tamahiko's father. While she's a year younger than the legal age limit of the Taisho era, the head of Shima family sends her to Tamahiko as a bride.

From the above, we see that the anime is honest about some of the horrors of the early 20th century. Thankfully, while Yuzu's situation is addressed multiple times, the anime itself is less sinister than it could be. Yuzuki and Tamahiko's relationship is entirely platonic for the time being. This is not to say we don't expect some romance as they grow older.

If you're wondering how long we're going to be seeing the couple, we got you covered. According to MyAnimeList, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale will have 12 episodes in total. This is pretty typical for a start, and many similar shows like The Duke of Death and His Maid have similar episode counts.

But while we're usually cautious and avoid excluding the possibility of more episodes in the future, Taisho Otome Fairy Tale is likely to have a conclusive finale. After all, the manga only ran for 5 volumes, which are entirely possible to adapt in only 12 episodes.
