It has been an awesome weekend for Thor: Love and Thunder and although fans are loving the film as it is, there have also been demands for a director's cut filled with all the deleted scenes. However, it looks like Taika Waititi isn't exactly enthusiastic about the idea. The Thor: Ragnarok director has just shot down the idea of releasing the "Waititi Cut" because he thinks it "sucks!"

Taika Waititi recently spoke to NME about Thor: Love and Thunder and when he was told that there is already a petition to #ReleaseTheWaititiCut, the filmmaker was quick to point out he doesn't like the idea of director's cuts.

“I’ve been thinking about director’s cuts. I watch director’s cuts of a lot of other directors. They suck,” Waititi said.

“Director’s cuts are not good. Directors need to be controlled sometimes and if I was to say, ‘ah you wanna watch my director’s cut? It’s four and a half hours long!’ It’s not good, at four and a half hours. There’s a lot of cup-of-tea breaks in there, you don’t even have to pause it,” he continued.

Waititi went on to share what would be in the Waititi Cut if he actually decides to go with it.

“I’d say my cut would probably have a few more jokes in there,” he said before confirming that there will be a few scenes that didn't make it into the theatrical cut, but not too many.

“There might be a couple of deleted scenes but as I always say, a scene is deleted because it’s not good enough to be in the film. I think the deleted scenes section on the DVD, not that they use them anymore, should just be a list of the scenes and no links so you can’t click on them!” Waititi said.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Taika Waititi is interested in a director's cut. Still, we're hoping that some of the deleted scenes will be featured in Thor: Love and Thunder's DVD and Blu-ray release.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now screening in theaters worldwide.
