Suicide Squad Director Regrets One Major Detail About Jared Leto's Joker

There is little doubt that Jared Leto's version of the Joker isn't the most popular one in the DC fandom. Still, David Ayer stands by the incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime. Well, except maybe for one thing. The Suicide Squad director just admitted that there is one thing he does regret about the movie's version of the Joker.

If there's one thing that sets Jared Leto apart from the other Jokers, it's the fact that his incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime is covered in numerous tattoos. When a fan asked David Ayer why the Joker got a "damaged" tattoo on his forehead, the Suicide Squad director offered an interesting explanation before sharing his regret.

"It was Joker trolling Batman after getting his teeth punched in by him," Ayer wrote in a tweet. "It’s the one aesthetic choice I wish I hadn’t made. Caught a lot of smoke for it obviously."

It's an interesting confession considering that the tattoos defined the Joker in Suicide Squad, albeit not in a flattering way. Still, it's great to know that David Ayer isn't above admitting that he has at least one regret about the way the character was portrayed in the film.

Although he will not be able to change anything about the movie now, fans still believe that David Ayer should be given a chance to reveal his original vision for Suicide Squad. The demand for the film's Ayer Cut continues even though DC and Warner Bros. have not yet confirmed it. Nevertheless, people are hoping that Ayer gets the same chance given to Zack Snyder with Justice League.

In the meantime, Jared Leto got an unexpected award for another project. The Academy Award winner has just been bestowed with the Razzie for Worst Actor for his performance in Morbius (via Yahoo!).
