Suicide Squad Actor Expresses Interest In MCU Storm Role

Marvel is slowly welcoming the mutants into the marvel cinematic universe, as well as the multiverse, and Wolverine is about to be one of the earliest X-Men to join, through Deadpool 3. However, another opportunity for a reboot has entered the studio and that is a Fantastic Four reboot, which will feature the First Family’s Earth-616 arrival. While Marvel has yet to announce their cast members for the reboot, Suicide Squad actor Storm Reid has expressed interest in taking the role of Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman.

Along with the Euphoria actress being “absolutely on board” with The Suicide Squad spinoff, Reid, who plays Tyla DuBois in the DC film, also opened up with Comicbook.com that there’s another role she has in mind for her career, which involves a potential jumping of studios from DC to Marvel Studios. Check out her full comment below:

“I mean, I think it would be fitting [for me] to play Storm. I mean, why not?” But then Reid had to downplay her expectations, “But, you know, in a perfect world.”

Nothing has been set to stone yet as Marvel has not even announced their ensemble for the reboot. So it is possible for Storm Reid to take her shot at auditions. However, Eiza González was previously reported to be Marvel Studios’ top choice for the role of Sue Storm. It is important to take this as a grain of salt unless an official announcement arises.

For now, it’s great to hear Reid expressing her next dream role. You can also catch her as Riley on HBO’s The Last of Us. Riley is a sixteen-year-old survivor and Ellie’s only childhood “best friend” at the military boarding school they both go to.

Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four reboot is currently slated for release on February 14, 2025. Meanwhile, The Last of Us premieres on HBO on January 15, 2023.
