Stray Kids members Bang Chan and Felix spoke candidly about their lives in Korea as they tried to adapt to the country's future before their debut.

Among Stray Kids members, Bang Chan and Felix share the closest relationship yet as both of them came from Australia before jetting back to the country. Although the group debuted in 2018, the duo first shared years together as then-trainees of JYP Entertainment.

Despite being half-Koreans, both K-pop idols had to adapt to Korean culture as they faced struggles while on their way toward stardom.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone Australia, Bang Chan and Felix talked about their lives in Australia before debuting as K-pop idols.

The group's lead dancer, 21-year-old Felix, only trained for a year before the group's formal debut in the K-pop music scene. With that short period, he reportedly found his new life very unfamiliar.

"When I was in Australia, I'd go to school, come back home, do my homework, and that was it for the day. And when I went to Korea, I was training and practicing, it was a new experience," he said.

Things went different for Bang Chan, who applauded their agency for taking good care of him when he began training alongside other trainees. He underwent extreme practices and lessons for seven years before Stray Kids finally debuted.

When Felix joined the other trainees, Bang Chan took care of him and started an unmatched friendship with his co-member. He recalled how they talked and cried a lot together. Felix, in return, took care of him when he was at his darkest moments, as well.

Bang Chan and Felix, together with the other members of Stray Kids, dropped their sophomore studio album NOEASY in August. It served as their first record since they won Mnet's Kingdom: Legendary War and the first song of Hyunjin with the group following his hiatus.

The Rolling Stone interview was not the first where Bang Chan candidly spoke about his feelings toward Felix.

In Stray Kids' [INTRO "IN生"]: The Reason, the members got the chance to describe what their co-member meant to them. Bang Chan chose his fellow Australian member, Felix, and gave him an emotional message.

While trying to hold back his tears, he said he would have a hard time without Felix. He then called his fellow member a precious person as Felix remained honest with him through hard times. After years of spending his time away from Australia, Bang Chan felt home when Felix came to the group as the K-pop idol seemed to be one of his family members.

With that, both of them survived the homesickness they suffered from as K-pop idols.
