Star Wars Writer Gary Whitta Wants Danny Trejo in The Mandalorian

It looks like Star Wars writer Gary Whitta wants Machete star Danny Trejo in the second season of Jon Favreau's hit Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

The screenwriter in charge of the first draft of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story just recently spoke with Trejo for an interview on his Animal Talking podcast (via Twitch) and it seems like the Star Wars writer wants to see the actor play a "badass bounty hunter" in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Though he says that he doesn't have that much clout over at Lucasfilm, Whitta promised the actor that he'd put in a good word with Dave Filoni for a role in the critically-acclaimed Star Wars series.

"I don't have any clout at Lucasfilm, but let me tell you something, if I could wave a magic wand right now, Danny Trejo as a badass bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. I think a lot of people would want to see that," Whitta said, "I'm going to call Filoni after the show, we're going to get him on."

While we're not entirely sure whether Trejo might land a role in The Mandalorian, we can't help but admit that the Machete actor would be a great addition for the second season of the show. Not only does the actor have a lot of film and television experience, but his gruff look and personality would fit in perfectly with the Old West atmosphere of the series.
