Star Wars: Rosario Dawson Confirmed for Guest Role in The Mandalorian Season 2 but Will She Play Ahsoka?

There is little doubt that people are already excited about Rosario Dawson joining The Mandalorian Season 2 since it has been reported that she will portray Ahsoka Tano. However, it's time to pump the brakes for a bit. A new report confirms that although the Daredevil star will be part of the cast of the Star Wars series, she is only confirmed as a guest star and her role has not yet been confirmed.

Deadline reports that Dawson will indeed be taking on "a supporting guest role" in the second season of The Mandalorian. This means that she is "not a series regular" and could appear in at least one or two episodes of the upcoming season. Moreover, the report stated that Dawson has not yet been "officially confirmed" to portray Ahsoka in the show.

It's no surprise that a previous report suggested that Dawson will play the former Jedi padawan in the Disney+ series. After all, the Defenders actress has been vocally campaigning for the role for some time now. Needless to say, it would be great if we could finally see a live-action version of Ahsoka. On the other hand, it would still be best to take the casting with a grain of salt.

While some are happy about Dawson possibly playing Ahsoka, others are pointing out that there is another Star Wars actress who could easily take on the role. It was previously reported that fans are calling for Disney and Lucasfilm to cast The Clone Wars voice actress Ashley Eckstein to be cast as Ahsoka in The Mandalorian Season 2.

The second season of The Mandalorian has not yet been given an official release date. However, the series is set to return on Disney+ by October.
