It looks like Gina Carano is effectively being erased from the Star Wars Universe. It has just been revealed that the Cara Dune Funko POP! figure is being discontinued after the Deadpool actress was fired fromThe Mandalorian.
An email from online retailer Entertainment Earth was sent to customers who had previously ordered the Cara Dune Funko POP! figure. Although the item was supposed to be restocked, the email confirms that production had been discontinued.
"Unfortunately, we're sorry to report that the manufacturer has notified us that we will not be receiving any additional shipments of the Star Wars: The Mandalorian Cara Dune Pop! Vinyl Figure (Item FU42065) you ordered because they have discontinued production of this item," the email reads.
The message was sent to confirm that the order had been cancelled due to the item being discontinued. However, Funko POP! did not offer additional information on the product's status.
This isn't the first Cara Dune toy that has been cancelled. It was previously reported that Hasbro has chosen to discontinue the production of the Star Wars: The Black Series 6" Cara Dune.
Although this is bad news for fans who were hoping to get their hands on the Cara Dune Funko POP!, it could also be an excellent opportunity for those who already have it. There is a possibility that the rare figures will sell well as long as they are in mint condition.
Carano was removed from The Mandalorian after sharing a controversial Instagram post that was viewed as anti-Semitic. However, the actress has since defended her posts when she appeared on the Ben Shapiro Show.
The fate of Cara Dune in The Mandalorian has not yet been announced. In the meantime, the third season is set to begin production soon and will premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
