Gina Carano Says Controversial Posts Aimed to Spark Debates, Not Spread Hate

There is little doubt that Gina Carano's controversial posts are what led to her being fired from The Mandalorian. However, the former Star Wars actress claims that her posts were misunderstood since she aimed to spark debates instead of spreading hate.

Carano shared her side of the story in an interview with The Ben Shapiro Show where she spoke about the Instagram post that led to her being fried from The Mandalorian. The now-deleted meme about the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany seemed to compare that treatment to that of modern-day conservatives. However, Carano denies this.

"When I posted that, it wasn't something I felt like was controversial," she said "It was something I thought, 'Well, maybe all of us need to ask ourselves, how did that happen?' because it's important. The post never said anything about Republicans or conservatives. It doesn't say anything about that in there. It was more about, you know, people tearing each other apart."

Carano later pointed out that her posts were supposed to get people thinking about current affairs.

"If you really go through what I'm posting, I post something because I want people to think," she said. "And I want to hear what people have to think."

Unfortunately, the posts only succeeded in drawing media attention and netizens calling for Carano's removal from The Mandalorian. Nevertheless, the Deadpool actress claims she is determined to stand her ground and will continue to air her views.

It is still unclear what will happen to Carano's character Cara Dune in The Mandalorian Season 3. In the meantime, the series is already expected to return on Disney+ in 2022.
