Now, it seems like the franchise is trying to make up for all the questionable decisions that were made by the House of Mouse over the course of the sequels. In the new novel Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith, it was finally explained by Rey (Skywalker) was abandoned by her parents and left to fend for herself on the deserted planet of Jakku.

The new book, written by Adam Christopher has been receiving rave reviews from fans this early and a lot of them even developed a new sense of appreciation for the polarizing sequel trilogy.

In the book, it was revealed that Rey's parents, Dathan and Miramir had a good reason for leaving their daughter in Jakku, the location where they built a home to start a new life.

Apparently, they were forced to leave Rey as a way of tricking Palpatine's servants, most notably Ochi of Bestoon into thinking that the child was with them all along, especially after the sinister Sith Lord sensed that they have a Force-wielding offspring.
