It's been nearly three years since Star Wars closed the chapter on the storied Skywalker saga but fans can't seem to forget the "bad taste" The Rise of Skywalker left in their mouths. Many believe that a lot of things about Episode IX made absolutely zero sense — from Palpatine's return all the way to Rey anointing herself as a "Skywalker" despite her shocking origin.

Now, it looks like Star Wars is attempting to give fans some much-needed clarity as to why the sequel trilogy had to be presented the way it was. After months of anticipation, the new novel Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith has finally been released.

Written by Adam Christopher, Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith features Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian teaming up together in an attempt to foil Ochi of Bestoon's plans as he is out to wreak havoc on the life of young Rey and her family.

Now, with its apparent ties to the sequel trilogy, one would assume that the novel will receive the same resentment from the fandom but apparently, that's not the case.

Taking to Twitter, Star Wars diehards celebrated the release of Shadow of the Sith and shockingly enough, it left many with a renewed sense of appreciation for the sequels. Check out some of the tweets below:

It'll be interesting to see if Shadow of the Sith truly gave the sequel trilogy's biggest critics a massive change of heart or if everything was just due to the current hype surrounding the novel. Only time will tell, I guess.

Adam Christopher's Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith is now available for purchase in your favorite bookstores.
