Star Wars: Diego Luna Says Cassian Andor Had 'More to Say and Do' After Rogue One

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a truly different Star Wars film because it killed off its entire main cast and effectively crushed any hope for a sequel (not that it didn't already have one in A New Hope). Nevertheless, we're getting a prequel focusing on Cassian Andor and Diego Luna is delighted to return for the new show since he claims he "had so much more to say and do" with the character!

Andor is bringing back Cassian Andor to explore what happened to the character before the events in Rogue One. It's an excellent idea and one that Diego Luna immediately welcomed since he wants to continue playing Cassian a bit more.

"I remember living every day as if it was the last," Luna admitted when discussing what it was like filming for Rogue One in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"I mean, I never thought of being part of this universe at all. I was just a fan, and one day I got a call. I thought it was going to be a one-time thing in my life, and I shared it with my kids, and I saw it. I was ready to move on," he continued.

Luna then shared what it was like when he was asked to reprise the role in a Disney+ show. "And then I was invited to [return for the show], and it made complete sense. I had so much more to say and do with this role. I just wanted to explore many things that I thought about while I was shooting that a film would never allow you to explore," he said.

We're glad that Diego Luna chose to return as Cassian Andor and we'll get to understand the character even more soon. Needless to say, we can't wait for Andor to premiere next month.

Andor will premiere on Disney+ on August 31, 2022.
