Andor might be about Diego Luna's Rebel captain but the new Star Wars series is also set to introduce some truly amazing characters as well. For instance, there's Stellan Skarsgard's Luthen Rael who is going to play an important role in the highly anticipated Disney+ show. With that in mind, Genevieve O'Reilly is already hyping up a scene that Mon Mothma shares with the mysterious new character.
We've already seen Luthen Rael in the Andor trailers and it always seems like he is up to something that could potentially help the Rebellion. One scene of note would be one he shares with Mon Mothma, who will be played by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Genevieve O'Reilly.
We don't know much about that scene just yet but O'Reilly is clearly thrilled to share some screen time with Stellan Skarsgard.
"Stellan is just a special man and quite a brilliant actor. It was a real treat to get to work with him, and that scene you’re talking about in the gallery might be the first time we meet Mon Mothma in the season," O'Reilly told The Hollywood Reporter. She continues by pointing out how the scene prepares viewers to meet a different side of her character.
"It beautifully sets up what I think we’re trying to do with Mon Mothma, which is to meet the public face and unveil the private woman within it," O'Reilly said.
This is an intriguing tease considering that we've always seen Mon Mothma as a political figure and we haven't seen her without her public face. The fact that Luthen Rael is the character who allows us to see this side of Mothma is interesting as well and we can't wait to see this scene in Andor next week.
Andor is set for a three-episode premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022.
