Star Wars: Andor Series Adds 2 New Directors

The upcoming Star Wars seriesAndor is already in production but the creative team is still adding some new members. It has been confirmed that the Disney+ show has added two new directors.

Discussing Film reports that directors Ben Caron and Susanna White will helm a few episodes of the series. It was previously confirmed that Black Mirror director Toby Haynes will direct the pilot episode written by showrunner Tony Gilroy.

Caron is best known for directing several episodes of The Crown. However, his works also include Skins, Wallander, and My Mad, Fat Diary. He also directed the Sherlock Season 4 finale The Final Problem.

White also has an impressive portfolio that includes directing episodes for Generation Kill, Boardwalk Empire, and Masters of Sex. Interestingly, she had previously worked with Andor star Stellan Skarsgaard in the film Our Kind of Traitor, which also starred Obi-Wan Kenobi's, Ewan McGregor.

For now, it is unclear how many episodes Caron and White will direct in Andor. However, there is a possibility that they will each work on more than just one episode.

Andor will star Diego Luna, who was first introduced as Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series takes place five years before the events in the movie and will explore the formative years of the Rebellion.

The series also stars Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. Genevieve O'Reilly, who also appeared in Rogue One, will reprise her role as Mon Mothma, the former Republic senator who helped found the Rebel Alliance.

Andor has not yet been given an official release date. However, all 12 episodes of the series are expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
