What Happened Before Star Wars: Andor Episode 4?
On the day of the premiere, Star Wars: Andor dropped the first three episodes of the series and it was a massive release for the series as that already comprises a fourth of the show. Here's a quick recap of all the first three episodes.
Star Wars: Andor Episode 1 Recap: Cassian's Connection To The Past
In Star Wars: Andor Episode 1, Cassian gets to Morlana One as he looks for his sister and encounters sentry guards who followed him into an alley to harass him, and unfortunately for them, Cassian fights back and beats them up. It ends up with two guards dead in the hands of Cassian.
He gets on his ship to get home to planet Ferrix, a free trade sector, and there, Cassian talks to his droid, B2EMO, a.k.a. Bee. A flashback takes everyone to the time when Cassian was still known as Kassa who witnessed a ship falling from the skies.
B2EMO informs Cassian that Jezzi and Femmi, his friends, visited him to bring him food and the medicine of Maarva. Cassian will also have to give an alibi in town as he meets Brasso. Deputy Inspector Syril Karn from the Pre-Mor authority is looking for Cassian despite their boss' objection.
Cassian digs up a mysterious box and approaches Bix to ask her about the friend she has who buys things since he has something to sell. Despite Bix not wanting to risk it, she gives in. Meanwhile, Syril gets the location of Cassian's ship.
Star Wars: Andor Episode 2 Recap: Syril Goes After Cassian
Star Wars: Andor Episode 2 starts with Kassa and his friends going to the ship that fell out of the sky and Kassa halts by the mining field. Back to the present, the bell at Ferrix wakes everyone up and Bix finds out the truth about Cassian being a fugitive.
Timm looks into why Bix is uneasy and he learns that the Pre-Mor Authority is in search of a Kenari male living on Ferrix. Timm immediately knows that Cassian is a wanted man.
It turns out, Maarva is the stepmother of Cassian and he tries not to talk to her about what he does in Ferrix. Maarva tells Cassian that she saw the Pre-Mor Authority was looking for him and she asks him how many people knows he came from Kenari.
Bix later informs Cassian that the buyer will pursue with the meet and they couldn't call it off. However, drunk Timm reports Cassian to Syril. Sgt. Kostek gets to assemble a team after being appointed by Syril.
The buyer turns out to be Luthen Rael and as Cassian prepares whilst having a target to his head, he tells Bee that should they be successful, he'll personally bring Maarva the credits of the sale but if it doesn't go as planned, Bee has to deliver.
Star Wars: Andor Episode 3 Recap: Cassian Joins the Rebellion
Star Wars: Andor Episode 3 opens with a flashback of how Maarva met Cassian. She knocks him down to rescue him knowing that an attack is imminent. Back to the present, Cassian entrusts Maarva to Brasso while he is gone.
Bix sees Rael and they go where the sale would be happening. Meanwhile, Syril's team arrives in Ferrix and they interrogate Maarva. Unfortunately, a droid is really honest, Bee accidentally spills the location of Cassian leading the whole pack of Syril to where the exchange is happening.
Rael, on the other hand, interrogates Cassian about the NS-9 Starpath and its authenticity. Well, Rael is just playing him into giving more information about himself because apparently, Rael is more interested in the person selling than what is being sold. Rael invites him into the Rebellion.
Bix and Salman find out that Timm informed the Pre-Mor and Bix immediately heads to Rael and Cassian when she gets nabbed by a Pre-Mor guard. Salman alerts everyone around town. Brasso, on the other hand, wrecks the Pre-Mor's vehicle.
Rael's escape plan isn't working once they get out of the warehouse and they still need to get to his ship at the Wastelands. Cassian misleads the Pre-Mor through a decoy car with explosives while he and Rael ride a speeder to escape. Cassian gets on Rael's ship to leave.
