The next Spy x Family chapter has been delayed. This was addressed by creator Tatsuya Endo on his personal X account, where he confirmed the new Spy x Family Chapter 88 release date alongside an apology illustration.
Even though Endo has been busy since the anime’s popularity exploded last year, he still treats fans to some cute and often funny illustrations on X. Recently, Endo shared two illustrations that got a lot of interest from fans.
Tatsuya Endo’s Illustration Celebrates Anya Forger VA’s Marriage
One of these two is a celebratory artwork featuring multiple Anya Forgers. This was shared in a congratulatory post for voice actress Atsumi Tanezaki’s marriage announcement.
Tanezaki is a popular VA who is perhaps best known now for being the voice of Anya in Spy x Family. She recently announced her marriage to fellow VA Yu Miyazaki through her X account.
Soon after the reveal, Endo shared an adorable Anya illustration that features five Anyas in bridal flower girl outfits. The artwork even features a cute depiction of Tanezaki’s pet cat.
As with most of Endo’s posts, this new art was warmly received by fans. In fact, the post got over 200k likes in just 24 hours, with many in the replies loving how cute it is.
Before Endo posted this, he also shared a funny illustration of three other Spy x Family characters. Instead of being celebratory, that other illustration was an apology to fans.

Spy x Family Chapter 88 Release Date Revealed in Hilarious Tatsuya Endo Illustration
Spy x Family Chapter 88 was set to be released on October 2, 2023. Endo revealed in his post that the manuscript for the next chapter has been submitted, though it did not make the deadline.
Thus, the new chapter has been delayed by two weeks. In response, Endo shared an illustration of Franky bowing in apology to Loid Forger and Fiona Frost, with Fiona pointing a gun at Franky with disgust.
This isn't the first time that Endo shared an illustration to apologize for the delay. Earlier this year, he shared a beautiful artwork of Yor in glasses to say sorry for something similar.
Instead of reacting negatively, most fans in the replies were understanding of Endo. Many shared their well wishes to him and expressed that they’ll continue to support the series.
As revealed in the post, Spy x Family Chapter 88 will now be released on October 16, 2023.
Even though the manga is delayed, fans can at least look forward to the anime’s second season which will premiere this weekend.
