The Spy x Family English dub is continuing to get new episodes weekly, but viewers might soon notice a slightly different voice for Anya. That’s because the Anya Forger English Dub VA in Spy x Family will be temporarily replaced.
Recently, the anime’s official English X (formerly Twitter) account revealed that Anya VA Megan Shipman will embark on a new mission, and that’s motherhood.
As Shipman will be on a temporary maternity leave, the show’s staff revealed that she will be replaced for a couple of episodes by another well-known VA.
Spy x Family English Dub Temporarily Replaces Anya VA Megan Shipman
Spy x Family Season 2 premiered earlier this month. Much like the previous season, this new one also has an English dub version that is streamed with a delay of just a couple of episodes.
For the new season, the English dub cast from the previous season came back to voice their characters. Among them is Megan Shipman, the VA of the adorable and loveable Anya Forger.
Aside from Anya, Shipman has voiced a lot of popular characters in anime. For instance, she is the VA of La Brava in My Hero Academia and Sasha in Attack on Titan.
Recently, Shipman revealed on her personal X account that she recently gave birth to her new kid. Thus, it was soon announced that Shipman is now on maternity leave.
This meant that for the next couple of episodes, Anya Forger will be voiced by Bryn Apprill, another popular VA.
Apprill is known as the voice of Kobeni in Chainsaw Man and Historia in Attack on Titan. She also served as the temporary VA of Fiona Frost in one of Spy x Family Season 1’s episodes.

Coincidentally, Shipman isn’t the only series VA with a wholesome family-related development.
Earlier this month, Japanese Anya VA Atsumi Tanezaki revealed that she has just been married to a fellow voice actor.
She confirmed the news via X, and this was celebrated by series creator Tatsuya Endo with an adorable artwork of multiple Anya's as flower girls.
Instead of taking a short break though, Tanezaki did the exact opposite as Fall 23 might just be one of her busiest seasons.
After all, she also has major roles in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End as well as The Apothecary Diaries.
