Spider-Man II Teases New Looks for Spideys in Shared Universe

The new games for Spider-Man—the VR experience of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Insomniac Games' Spider-Man for the PS4—still feature everyone's staple Spidey, Peter Parker.

Even though Miles Morales doesn't have his game version yet, fans will be happy to know that Marvel is gearing up for a milestone five-issue series. Dubbed Spider-Men II, the new comics will bring together the two web-slingers once more.

Speaking in an interview (via Newsarama), writer Brian Michael Bendis teased a few words about what fans can expect now that they're bringing together the two Spideys for another run.

"One of my favorite things about a shared universe, is that on top of what you're writing for the characters, other things are happening to the characters, like now Miles is in the new universe, and now he's a part of the Champions, and half of [Civil War II] was people fighting over his head, so things have changed in his life, and his relationship to the Marvel Universe is completely different than it was in the first series and that's exciting."

Bendis was in charge of introducing Miles into the fandom. Now that he has stuck as one of the alters for the Spidey suit, Spider-Men II will be Bendis' means of revealing a few thigs in relation to the previous books. It also helps that, this time around, the two Spideys are already in the same universe, as opposed to the multiverse from the first run.

There is one cover that asks where the other Miles is, which is quite intriguing. Spider-Men II is expected to arrive on July 12 and expected to run for five issues from the same team who delivered the first Spideys team-up.
