Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is a web novel series that is a sequel to the Solo Leveling story we know and love.

It follows Sung Su-Ho, the son of Sung Jin-Woo and Cha Hae-In.

Being Jin-Woo's son, Su-Ho is overpowered to the point of having the opposite problem from his father.

While Jin-Woo started off with barely any power, only becoming strong after a near-death experience, Suho manifests exceptional powers as a toddler.

He's so overpowered that people avoid him due to the danger he poses, forcing his father to seal his powers and wipe his memories of them so that he could have a normal life.

But when the Gates that once threatened humanity open once again forcing Su-Ho to embrace his Hunter heritage and learn to fight.

So far, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok has not been translated in English or adapted into a manhua. However, its manhua adaptation is expected to premiere in 2024.

So, what happens in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 1? The main plot point you need to know is that, despite Solo Leveling's ending, the Gates will reopen, letting monsters in.

In the very last chapter of the original Solo Leveling manhua, Jin-Woo goes back in time to close the gates, returning to his own world as a teenager.

At a first glance, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is undoing this plot point, showing that it wasn't enough to protect the world long-term.

Of course, it can be argued that in going back in time, Jin-Woo didn't destroy the very concept of the Gates. He simply prevented the Monarchs from opening them in the first place, so Ragnarok features a new threat.

At the beginning of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Su-Ho, Jin-Woo's son, is a twenty-year old university student who is chosen as Player by the System when the new Gates appear.

Su-Ho must become a Hunter, which is going to be a challenge, because, unlikely his father, he has lived a mostly normal life up to that point.

Worse still, his parents -- both Hunters back in the day -- won't be able to help him, as they have disappeared.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok will follow Su-Ho as he navigates these challenges alone.
