Igris is the Shadow of Blood-Red Commander Igris, a former dungeon boss.

After becoming a Shadow, Igris served Ashborn as one of his most powerful soldiers before joining forces with Jin-Woo.

While Igris' importance in the narrative only becomes apparent later, he's the first Shadow to serve Jin-Woo after the hero receives the Shadow Extraction technique, that is, the ability to turn slain creatures into soldiers.

Igris is very powerful, with enhanced regeneration skills and the ability to move objects telekinetically.

Who Is Beru?

Beru used to be the Ant-King, a very powerful boss based on Jeju Island.

After slaying him, Jin-Woo repurposed him into a shadow soldier whom he named Beru and made him destroy the rest of the ant colony.

Other than considerable strength, speed, and durability, his powers include the ability to change his size, the ability to consume other beings and gain their knowledge and skills, as well as enhanced healing capabilities.

Since both Beru and Igris end up serving Jin-Woo, and he hasn't pinned them against one another, it's hard to say for sure which one is the strongest.

Fans have debated for a long time, and the consensus seems to be that Igris and Beru are very close to equals in terms of power.

We would argue that Beru is slightly stronger, or at least more useful to Jin-Woo due to his unique skill set.

He's the only Shadow with healing powers, and this has allowed him to save Jin-Woo and bring him back to full health when he was close to death.

Moreover, Beru can heal himself, which means that he's unlikely to become incapacitated during battle.

Fans of Beru also cite the fact that he reached the rank of Marshal faster than Igris to argue that the former is slightly more powerful.

In Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Solo Leveling's light novel sequel, Jin-Woo creates a mock dungeon for his son, whereby he pins him against Igris, then Beru, and finally Bellion, his strongest Shadow.

This might be another slight hint that Beru is just a tiny bit stronger than Igris.
