Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Episode 8 Recap
The episode begins with Kamiya's reimagining of a live-action film she recently saw. Kamiya imagines herself as a princess waiting for her prince to appear and whisk her away. Izumi, on the other hand, is the prince who only looks at Shikimori.
While Izumi and Kamiya are in the library, the cultural festival continues. Nekozaki sent Kamiya a message asking for a favor, but she missed it since she was engrossed in her talk with Izumi.
They discuss not only their personal impressions of one another but also their romantic relationships. While Izumi was surprised to hear Kamiya discuss girlie topics, he believes she is just like any other girl who is frequently misjudged.
Nekozaki and Shikimori appear out of nowhere to speak with Kamiya. Shikimori has decided to switch couple numbers with Kamiya because of Izumi. While Kamiya did not want to give up her number, she did it generously in light of Shikimori and Izumi's relationship.
Shikimori and Nekozaki waited for Izumi to finish his shift in the library. When Shikimori sees how comfortable Izumi and Kamiya are together, he notices that they are relatively close.
Izumi, Shikimori, and Nekozaki leave together when the library shift is completed. Kamiya was left with a lot of questions. She has the impression that she is Cinderella, whose time with her Prince Charming has come to an end.
Regardless, Kamiya shakes it off and walks up to her classroom booth. Everyone was overjoyed to see her back, knowing that if Kamiya was present, their booth would make more money. They compliment Kamiya's appearance, but she can't help but think of Izumi and Shikimori.
She went to the school rooftop for a break because all she could think about was Izumi's kindness. Shikimori returns her couple number unexpectedly.
It turns out, that Shikimori had noticed Kamiya's sentiments toward Izumi. Shikimori argues that taking Kamiya's couple number away for her personal happiness is unjust. Instead, she rips apart the pair's number.
As she offered to leave Izumi and never speak to him again, Kamiya began to cry. Shikimori embraces Kamiya to distract her from her unpleasant thoughts. Shikimori clarifies that Kamiya is not a horrible person because she likes Izumi as well.
Their chat ended well, leaving Kamiya with the impression that Izumi had found a good woman in Shikimori.
Izumi starts another day by getting ready for Shikimori's birthday and their dating anniversary. Despite the fact that their class did not win the free after-party food vouchers at the cultural festival, they headed to an Okonomiyaki restaurant.
Shikimori informs Hachimitsu and Nekozaki that she has misplaced the couple number after they asked for their commemorative photo. They believe Shikimori is unlikely to lose it because she is not like the unlucky Izumi.
When the party was over, Izumi invited Shikimori to accompany him to a neighboring park. Izumi handed his gift and greetings politely. It was a white pearl necklace in the shape of a heart. Shikimori and Izumi discuss their friendship and their mutual trust.
Shikimori promises Izumi before the episode ends that she will not let him go, even if other girls are more beautiful and gentle than she ever comes across their path. She cries as Izumi promises her that they will be together for a very long time.
