Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie is a romantic comedy anime with two odd main characters. Shikimori deviates from the norm, unlike other rom-com shows in which the husbando frequently protects the waifu. Fans, however, are perplexed as to why is Izumi so unlucky in Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie. Is there a significant reason for this?

The male protagonist, Izumi, pales in comparison to Shikimori's strong personality and cool demeanor. Not to mention that he has had the most unfortunate luck.

Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie's male protagonist is Izumi Yuu. He is also Shikimori's boyfriend, one of the most popular and beautiful girls at school. Izumi appears to be a typical high school student, but there is something strange about him.

Izumi sees leaving the house as a battleground. He frequently goes to school having had a string of bad luck. Flying newspapers, falling signs, fast-moving cars, and pooping birds, among other things, appear out of nowhere. The good news is that Shikimori is always there to save him when he is in danger.

With this, Izumi's peers ridicule him about his girlfriend. This contributes to his belief that he is unworthy of Shikimori.

When there's trouble, he's also anxious about his girlfriend's safety. In any event, Izumi works hard to improve himself as a man for Shikimori.

Regardless of what happens, he is the type of guy who will always put Shikimori first. In the face of adversity, he also does not give up. According to Shikimori, Izumi is one of the nicest individuals in the world who understands everything there is to know about pain.

In the anime, Izumi had bad luck since he was a child. Motoko, his mother, said he was always coming home with one injury after another. While Izumi doesn't seem to mind, Motoko is constantly concerned about Izumi.

Who wouldn't be? She frequently sees Izumi return home with a tree branch plucked in his head with oozing blood. Despite his mother's warnings to watch out for himself more, Izumi assures her that nothing serious will happen to him.

Shikimori then assumes that Izumi's bad luck stems from his mother. Motoko frequently gets herself into trouble, so it appears to be inherited. The bad news is that she is completely unaware of it. Motoko, according to Shikimori, is the type of mother who is clumsy with dishes, dining wares, and most especially, knives.

This, however, is not the case with Izumi. The unfortunate male character is destined to be unlucky. There is no other explanation for his unfortunate situation. Truly, he is genuinely unlucky in his life.
