The latest Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings show how much hype and action will be in the film. There will be plenty of martial arts scenes that will serve as the first offering in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4. It introduces Simu Liu in the titular role and a Master of Kung Fu. He will bring the martial arts expertise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The new Marvel film will also reveal the real Mandarin and may feature dragons. Marvel kept certain plot points of the movie a secret even after they have released the first trailer. As ScreenRant stated, the newest trailer for the film was filled with so much action and martial arts, supporting the internet theory that the movie has its similarity to Mortal Kombat.
There were some rumors about the film that its plot will be similar to a Mortal Kombat fighting tournament. This potential plot detail was part of a leak, which claims that a tournament is a key aspect of Shang-Chi's story.
The rumors on the film's casting seem to have also supported this claim that there is a tournament within the film. In fact, the time of Shang-Chi borrowing a part of the Mortal Kombat setup comes at the same time when Warner Brothers are rebooting and releasing the video game franchise into a new live-action reiteration.
Although the premise or plot of the film is not fully known, the title would likely be a giveaway. The film will feature the "Ten Rings" which is a terrorist organization with a hundred years in history.
Some fans would likely debunk this theory. As of the moment, it hasn't been revealed that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will really feature a fighting tournament. Even so, it will be an amazing time to see Mortal Kombat and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings showcasing the beauty of martial arts in film.
Mortal Kombat is set to be released on April 23, 2021 while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be released on September 3, 2021.
