We are only a few days away from the premiere of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and that means we'll finally get to see Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in action all over again. Not surprisingly, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld were understandably thrilled to reprise their roles in the animated sequel.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Stars Tease Major Surprises In Animated Sequel

Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld recently spoke to CBR to promote Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and they both admitted that they were surprised and impressed with the changes in the new movie.

"You know, I love the animation. The animation really surprised me -- they really upped it," Moore said. "I thought the first one was excellent. They doubled or tripled it up, for sure. Put the sauce on that."

He added, "[I was surprised] maybe how long this one took. We've been working on this for about four years. So it took time."

For Steinfeld, every day of filming was a surprise.

"We aren't given a full script at the beginning of the process. So we're making discoveries as we go along, and there are always surprises," she revealed.

"There are always exciting things to find out," Steinfeld added. "They're really good at keeping things under wraps, which makes the experience for us seeing it at the end of the day just as special as I hope it is for our audiences."

But what can fans expect in the second film? We already know that there will be more Spider-People to look forward to in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. This includes Spider-Man 2099, who only appeared briefly in the first movie's post-credits scene.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will feature the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya and Oscar Isaac.

The animated sequel is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, and will hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
