Shaman King is based on a 1998-2004 shonen manga. As is the case with many popular works, the manga received an anime adaptation while still ongoing, meaning that the ending the creators intended for us never made it to our screens. Instead, the reboot is faithful to the manga.
Shaman King follows Yoh Asakura, who fights to become the best among shamans an all-powerful being with the ability to summon spirits and manipulate the world according to their will. To achieve his dream, Yoh must come victorious out of a competition that only takes place once every 500 years. At this point, we're well into the Shaman fight, and unless you've read the manga, it might be hard to predict the result!
Fans were a little disappointed by Episode 44, due to the perceived bad direction and poor pacing. As we move closer to the end, viewers would like the last few battles to be a bit more mind-blowing and less easy for the characters. Hopefully, the final episodes will be a worthwhile payoff.
Shaman King (2021) Episode 45 Release Date
The official release day for Shaman King Episode 45, titled "The First and the Last," is going to be Thursday, March 3, 2022. However, the newest episodes will only be available on Netflix Japan and BiliBili in China for the time being.
Since December 2021, fans worldwide can watch episodes 14-26 on Netflix. We hope that the next batch will follow in due course, presumably in the next couple of months.
