One anime series that I'm dying to watch and am immensely displeased with the fact that it's currently sitting in Streaming Jail is Shaman King (2021). A remake of the classic shonen anime series which ran from 2001 to 2002, this series will retell the entire story within 52 episodes so I hope you're prepared for a wild ride.
Based on the manga of the same name which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1998 to 2004, this series is all about an ultimate showdown that will determine the shape of the world in the future. The main character is a shaman named Yoh Asakura. In this world, a shaman is someone who can use the souls of deceased people to gain their powers and abilities for use in combat.
Yoh has a dream of becoming the winner of a once every 500 years battle known as the Shaman Fight. The winner of this fight is named Shaman King and is granted a wish to reshape the world however they desire. Along the way, Yoh will make a ton of new friends and grow closer to his fiance Anna (who has a vested interest in seeing Yoh win the tournament).
Is Shaman King (2021) on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, or Funimation in English Sub or Dub?
The answer to this question is a lot harder to answer than you might think. The series is definitely on Netflix and has been airing weekly in Japan ever since it premiered at the beginning of April 2021. Unfortunately, outside of Japan, your availability might be limited. At the moment, there is no legal stream for Shaman King (2021) in the United States. The series will be released on Netflix at a later date, but they have not announced when that date will be.
This is obviously not happy news for anyone who came here looking for positive news about where or when you'd be able to watch Shaman King (2021) but unfortunately, thems the breaks in this crazy age of streaming warfare.
