Director Sam Raimi recently revealed his story ideas for the potential Spider-Man 4 movie starring Tobey Maguire.

Following the box success of the third film in 2007, Sony and Raimi immediately started developing a fourth installment. However, the project ended up being shelved and the franchise was rebooted with Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man.

Throughout the years, fans have been clamoring for a fourth movie with Maguire, especially in the aftermath of his return in No Way Home. So far, there are no official plans yet for another installment.

In a recent red-carpet interview, Raimi was asked about the rumors surrounding Spider-Man 4 and whether he has story ideas for the potential movie.

While he didn't reveal any significant plot details, he shared his goal for Maguire's Peter Parker and the villain that he will face.

"I think if we were to make a fourth Spider-Man film, we'd have to figure out the journey that Tobey Maguire's character would be going on and what obstacles he had to overcome to achieve that growth personally," the director said.

"And I hope that the villain would be chosen based on a representation of that obstacle."

When asked whether he has an idea for the obstacle, Raimi responded, "I haven't because I'd have to know what the next thing that character has to learn. I'd have to talk with Tobey, and the writers, and really figure out what his personal growth for this episode would be."

It is an interesting comment from the director as it sounded like he really had some ideas in mind all these years regarding how he could possibly continue the Spider-Man films with Maguire.

Fans would definitely be happy if it comes to fruition, but for now, Sony has no intention to go beyond the trilogy and they are more focused at the moment with the Tom Holland-led Spider-Man 4.
