Requiem of the Rose King Episode 4 RELEASE DATE and TIME, COUNTDOWN, Where to Watch

Requiem of the Rose King Episode 4 promises serious political intrigue when it releases next weekend. The shojo anime isn't as well-received as we initially expected, judging from the popularity of the manga. This might be due to the pacing, which is admittedly too fast-paced and confusing for those not familiar with the source material or the relevant historical events.

In any case, the third episode was an interesting one. Richard must navigate his grief and adjust to a new political situation while his brother prepares for a marriage which is set to cause serious drama as we move on.

Below, you will find everything you need to know about the new J. C. Staff project, including the release date and time of Episode 4, where to watch, and everything else you need to know about Requiem of the Rose King!

Based on a supernatural manga by Kanno Aya, Requiem of the Rose King unfolds in the backdrop of the War of Roses. While it is primarily a work of fiction, the manga and anime draw on historical themes, including the struggle for the English throne.

Rather than deformed, as in other versions, Richard Plantagenet is intersex here. While he identifies as male, those around him refuse to see him as a man. Richard is treated by his mother as a cursed demon and grows to only believe in his ability to fight and kill. His only solace is his loving relationship with his father, the Duke of York.

Richard is plagued by visions of Joan of Arc, who tells him he'll bring ruin to everyone around him - and given that Richard III met a tragic ending, you can just about believe her.

In episode 3, Richard is devastated and enraged at the death of his father. Rescued by a member of his guard, he returns to his mother and brothers. His eldest brother is now King Edward IV, and he marks his ascension with a banquet. Richard bonds with Anne, while a woman named Elizabeth Woodville approaches Edward with a petition.

As a Lancastrian nobleman's widow, Elizabeth asks Edward to return her husband's confiscated lands to her. Edward agrees to consider her petition and the two become sexually involved the next day. Elizabeth's sassy manners excite Edward, who is determined to make her his bride. Elizabeth agrees, only for us to learn that she only accepted his proposal so that she can avenge her husband.
