Queen Elizabeth is being dragged in a new book centered on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Tom Bower’s latest work, Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, detailed some shocking claims about the couple and the British clan.
Queen Elizabeth Accused Of Airbrushing Prince Harry, Meghan Markle From History With Photo Snub
Even though the book hasn’t been released yet, highlights are already available online. And several publications picked up Bower’s claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were being airbrushed from history following Queen Elizabeth’s decision not to include their photo during her Christmas address in 2019.
At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were already being criticized for everything that they did. But they were still senior working royals. So, some of their supporters were surprised by the monarch’s decision to seemingly snub them.
“To Harry's fury, there was no picture of him, Meghan, and Archie. The Windsors were airbrushing the Sussexes from history,” Bower wrote (via Yahoo! News).

Queen Elizabeth Wanted To Focus On The Future Kings And Their Families
However, royal expert Victoria Arbiter immediately came to the queen’s defense by saying that what she did wasn’t a deliberate snub. Instead, the queen wanted to showcase photos of the future kings of Britain and their families during her Christmas speech.
“It was inevitable that people would assume the Queen chose to leave them out as the war of the Windsors sells but there was no slight or malice. So often, people try to read into every little thing, and sometimes with good reason but the Queen is not mean-spirited nor is she petty. All her children and grandchildren could take offense based on who's featured each year but they know the system and they know why certain decisions are made so it's unfortunate so much was made of the Sussexes absence. It wasn't personal,” she explained.
Arbiter also said that the photos were chosen to offer Britons reassurance since Prince Andrew’s disastrous interview with the BBC just aired a month earlier.
Queen Elizabeth Reportedly Had Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Photo Removed Before Her Christmas Broadcast
Last year, there were claims that Prince Harry and Markle’s photos were on the queen’s table. But she reportedly had it moved off camera before her holiday broadcast was recorded, according to Page Six.
In the book Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, royal author Christopher Andersen quoted a source as saying that the queen looked over the table where her family portraits were placed.
“All were fine but one, [the Queen] told the director. Then she pointed to the Sussex picture and said: ‘That one, I suppose we don’t need that one,’” he wrote.
A spokesperson for the queen said last year that they do not comment on books such as the Brothers and Wives so as not to give it any authority or credibility. The statement seemingly suggests that not everything that’s written about the queen and the royal family in books is accurate.
