Queen Elizabeth Wanted Meghan Markle To Talk To Thomas Markle

In her book The New Royals, royal author Katie Nicholl said that Queen Elizabeth was one of the people who encouraged Meghan Markle to talk to her estranged father.

“The Queen could see how damaging the situation was between Meghan and her father and she did speak to Meghan about it and tried to encourage her to talk to Thomas,” Nicholl wrote (via Page Six).

According to Nicholl, the queen also felt that if the issue between Markle and her dad was handled differently, it would’ve also brought about a different result.

“The whole thing was quite badly handled with Thomas Markle and it if had been done differently, it would have come out better,” Nicholl wrote.

Queen Elizabeth Thought Prince Harry Should’ve Visited Thomas Markle In Mexico Early On

The queen also thought that it was wrong of her grandson, Prince Harry, not to travel to Mexico early on to get to know his father-in-law.

“I think she felt that Harry should certainly have met Thomas Markle and it was unfortunate that that had to happen,” Nicholl said.

As of writing, Markle and Prince Harry are still not in contact with Thomas, and the latter continues to air his sentiments about being snubbed by the couple during his interviews.

Thomas Markle Continues To Talk About Meghan Markle, Prince Harry During His Interviews

Most recently, the former lighting director responded to his daughter’s comments during her interview with The Cut.

The Duchess of Sussex suggested that she lost her father and she didn’t want the same thing to happen to Prince Harry.

But during his interview with Daily Mail, Thomas stressed that Markle did not lose her. Instead, she dumped her father.

“I am not lost. She knows where to find me. My number hasn’t changed. I would love to hear from my daughter and meet my son-in-law and my grandkids for the first time,” Thomas said (via Sky News).

But in March, Thomas slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and even said that he would be happy to testify in favor of her other, Samantha Markle, in the courtroom.

“I would be more than happy to. I’ve been trying for almost four years to get to see my daughter and her ginger husband in a courtroom face-to-face. I’d be thrilled to defend my eldest daughter,” he said (via New Idea).

However, it is Thomas’s constant tirade against Markle and Prince Harry that encouraged the couple to cut ties with him for good.
