Queen Consort Camilla Broke Her Toe Days Before Queen Elizabeth’s Death

Queen Consort Camilla Adores And Respects Queen Elizabeth

And this is not to say that the queen also had so much love and respect for Camilla when she was still alive. In fact, Her Majesty previously said that it is her greatest desire and wish for her daughter-in-law to be styled as queen consort when the time comes.

“And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service,” the queen said in her statement.

Queen Elizabeth And Queen Consort Camilla Used To Have A Complicated Relationship

However, the queen and Camilla’s relationship wasn’t always pleasant. Several years ago, the queen reportedly made some negative remarks about her daughter-in-law.

In 1998, the queen reportedly had a bit too much to drink and she was heard calling Camilla a wicked woman.

And when Queen Mother died in 2002, Camilla wasn’t allowed to be with the royal family inside Buckingham Palace. The decision was put in place with the knowledge that Queen Mother did not adore Camilla either, according to Cheat Sheet.

Years later, Camilla allegedly put a plan in place for her husband to overthrow the queen during his 70th birthday. Of course, this did not happen because King Charles III only became a monarch after his mother’s death. There’s also no confirmation that Camilla even thought of such a ludicrous plan.

And despite everything that’s been said about Camilla and the queen’s relationship, it is important to note that King Charles told his mother that he wanted to marry Camilla, and the queen gave him her blessing.
