Princess Charlotte will reportedly receive the Princess Royal title after Princess Anne passes away and as long as she’s old enough by then. But there are some rumors suggesting that the day has come for Princess Charlotte to be called Princess Royal, and it’s all up to her dad, Prince William.
Princess Anne Wants Princess Charlotte To Inherit Her Royal Title
New Idea, in its Dec. 27 issue, claimed that Princess Anne doesn’t want Princess Charlotte to wait many years before she receives her royal title. After all, Princess Anne experienced the same thing years ago.
Princess Royal allegedly told the Duke of Cambridge that he should hand the title to Princess Charlotte as soon as it becomes available.
“Anne isn’t one for standing on ceremony. She’s 71 and is thinking about what that means for everyone. Besides, she has a real soft spot for William as she’s been something of a confidant over the years and lately she’s had quite a lot to do with Charlotte as well,” the unnamed source said.
Princess Anne Has Her Eyes Set On Princess Charlotte
So, Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter allegedly talked to Prince William and urged him to not take so long before he bestows the royal title to Princess Charlotte.
“Anne loves the title and everyone can agree she has certainly done it proud. She has been thinking about her legacy lately and what she sees for the future of the role. Neither of her own children, Peter Phillips, and Zara Tindall has expressed much enthusiasm about working the Crown as tirelessly as she has, so she’s turning her focus on teaching little Charlotte everything she knows about the Crown,” an unnamed source said.
Princess Charlotte Considers Princess Anne Her Hero
Princess Charlotte also, allegedly, adores Princess Anne. And she was starstruck when Kate Middleton told her that Princess Royal participated in the Montreal Olympics in 1976.
“Charlotte told Anne last year that she’s her hero. It was very sweet, and Anne, who’s usually quite brusque, was quietly chuffed. Anne offered to give her some riding lessons. She’s very impressed at the early talent Charlotte’s showing in the saddle and thinks there could be something there for her. Since then, Anne has taken a special interest in Charlotte, and it’s obvious she feels an emotional tie to her great-niece since they share the similarity of being the second-born child and first-born daughter of a monarch,” the unnamed source concluded.

Princess Charlotte Is Too Young To Inherit Princess Anne’s Royal Title
Last month, Woman’s Day published a similar story about Princess Charlotte and her future royal title.
Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told the publication that the 6-year-old will inherit Princess Anne’s title. However, the young royal can only use it after Princess Anne passes away and after she becomes an adult.
This contradicts New Idea’s claims that Princess Anne asked Prince William to immediately bestow her royal title on Princess Charlotte.
There’s also no indication that Princess Charlotte considers Princess Anne her hero. After all, she has her parents, Prince William and Middleton to look up to.
Queen Elizabeth is also the perfect role model for Princess Charlotte, and the two reportedly share a special bond to the point that they play together.
