Meghan Markle shocked the public with some of her biggest revelations about the royal family during her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Even though she did not directly mention Prince William last year, the Duchess of Cambridge mentioned his wife, Kate Middleton, on more than one occasion.
Meghan Markle told Winfrey that there were concerns about Archie’s skin color even before he was born. Prince Harry’s wife also clarified that she didn’t make Middleton cry. Instead, it was the Duchess of Cambridge who made her cry, but she immediately apologized to the Duchess of Sussex.
Prince William Was Utterly Disgusted With Meghan Markle’s Claims
During a recent interview, royal author Tina Brown claimed that Prince William was utterly disgusted by his sister-in-law’s claims. In fact, he was forced to address the racism allegations during a royal engagement when a reporter asked him about it. The Duke of Cambridge stressed that they are not racists.
“It was such a shame. It was described to me as civil, which is palace courtier for what the rest of us would refer to as frosty. You do wonder whether it could be their kind of gift to the Queen to make up somehow. But there's been so much said - obviously, Oprah,” Brown said (via Express).

Prince William Devasted With How Kate Middleton Was Dragged Into The Interview
Last year, royal author Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William was devastated after hearing the interview.
“Don't forget that the Duchess of Cambridge is being dragged into this whole saga and William will hate that and of course, the relationship between father and son is, of course, at an all-time low. I think that the idea that Kate’s being dragged into this will be upsetting for Kate who behind the scenes has tried really hard to be a peacemaker between William and Harry. She has been deeply saddened by the brothers' falling out. Don’t forget she was incredibly close to Harry herself,” Nicholl said.
Prince William Might Be Forced To Reconcile With Prince Harry When He’s King
Prince Harry and Markle’s interview with Winfrey also put more strain between Prince William and his younger brother. During his interview, Prince Harry said that time is the healer and that he will always love Prince William. But the royal author claimed that it’s unclear when the brothers’ relationship would be repaired.
“But I think there are so many raw emotions here, that it's far too early to talk about any kind of family reunion. Harry was born in a very different role than William -- he was born the spare, William the heir. William has always known what his duty and birthright have been. I’m sure there are times when he's resented the establishment he's born into and there have been times he's kicked back at it... There are times certainly when William has struggled with his birthright, but to suggest that he's trapped in the institution, I don’t think it’s true and I don’t think it’s probably Harry’s place to say in any case,” she said.
Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe also said that Prince William might be forced to repair his relationship with Prince Harry because of his future role as the king of Britain.
“If William wants to be a future king, a great leader giving inspiring addresses about the environment to two billion people, then the public are within their rights to expect him to be able to sort out a dispute with his brother. He has to start showing some leadership here. Eventually, William will have to pick up the phone. Harry doesn’t have to; he can just be a polo player with a gorgeous wife,” he said.
