Prince William and Prince Harry’s once-close relationship fell apart shortly after the latter tied the knot with Meghan Markle. Three years already passed and royal fans are still hoping for the day to come that the brothers will patch things up.
Unfortunately, there’s reportedly no chance for Prince William and Prince Harry to reconcile anytime soon. According to royal author Robert Lacey, the Duke of Cambridge still has so much resentment toward his younger brother.
Weeks ago, Prince William hosted a private dinner for those that helped build Princess Diana’s statue, and he didn’t, reportedly, invite Prince Harry.
Prince William Still Upset With Prince Harry
Lacey spoke to two people that attended the private dinner and they told him that Prince William is still upset with Prince Harry.
“I’ve spoken to two people from that party and it was quite clear from things he said that his anger towards Harry remains. He remains unhappy about what his brother has done. There is no immediate possibility of any reconciliation. I mean, it’s not wanted on either side. Too many bitter things have been said,” Lacey said on Page Six.

Lacey also said that Prince William is still reeling over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year. At the time, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that it was Middleton that made her cry and not the other way around.
Prince Harry and Markle also revealed that at least one member of the royal family had concerns over Archie’s skin color. Days later, Prince William released a statement saying that the royal family is not racist.
Prince William, Prince Harry’s Screaming Match
Earlier this year, Lacey revealed that Prince William and Prince Harry finally decided to separate their households after Markle bullied the royal staff and made them cry. However, the Duchess of Sussex has vehemently denied the allegations.
“I am told by the person to whom William described this, that William physically went round to discover Harry on the Kensington campus and they had a face-to-face showdown. It ended with William saying, ‘Well, I don’t want you in my household anymore,” Lacey said at the time.

Prior to the brothers’ reunion, Lacey had big hopes that Prince William and Prince Harry will finally reconcile.
“I think that it will create great progress. They are coming together from opposite sides of the world for the express purpose of honoring their mother and what more could they do to honor her than at least start moving back together. "I can't believe that either of them would want this occasion to be divisive. If they've gone to all this trouble to raise a monument to Diana and what she stands for and stood for, then surely it’s a time for them to align their own position with what she would have wanted,” he told Hello! magazine.
The Upside To Prince William, Prince Harry’s Feud
Unfortunately, Prince William and Prince Harry’s reunion did not improve their relationship with each other. But if there’s one upside to the brothers’ feud, Lacey said that it has to do with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William strengthening their relationship.
“Certainly, on this end of things, Charles, William, and the Queen have been on the telephone to each other a lot. And a paradoxical benefit of what’s happened has been that now they have come to form an effective working trio at the head of things, with the Queen slightly taking a step back. There have been problems between the Queen and Charles in the past. Certainly, problems between William and his father in the past. These are set behind them. And I’m told they have a very good efficient working relationship. And so, the future of the Royal Family, and what it does, you know, is in very sound hands,” Lacey concluded.
