Prince Harry will soon drop his highly-anticipated memoir, and royal fans can’t wait to read what he has in store for them.
Some royal experts are convinced that Prince Harry would discuss his relationship with the royal family and attack certain members of The Firm. After all, he said that his memoir would focus on his accounts and experiences as a man and as a royal.
Prince Harry Could Attack Prince Charles, Prince William But Not Kate Middleton In His Memoir
In his column for Closer UK, royal author Duncan Larcombe said that it wouldn’t be surprising to see Prince Harry attacking certain members of the royal family because he and Meghan Markle have already done this before. Last year, the Sussexes sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they accused the British clan of being racist. Additionally, Prince Harry previously claimed that Prince Charles froze him out and confirmed that his relationship with Prince William is no longer like what it once was.
Last week, a former royal editor predicted that the members of the royal family that would be attacked in Prince Harry’s memoir are Prince Charles, Prince William, and possibly, Camilla Parker Bowles. However, Prince Harry would most likely write only beautiful things about his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
“Leaving Kate from the memoir is a sign that she could be Harry’s last hope of healing the family rift. This will show that Kate is just a bridge that Harry won’t burn. It would be very sad if Harry were to turn on the person who not that long ago he described as ‘the sister he never had.’ He and Kate had a deep bond. I think this is a signal that Kate could be the next royal he reaches out to make amends,” Larcombe said.
Prince Harry, Kate Middleton Have A Special Bond
Last year, Middleton made Prince Harry feel welcomed when he returned to the United Kingdom to attend Prince Philip’s memorial service. At the time, Prince Harry and Markle’s interview with Winfrey just aired, so royal experts predicted that there would be tensions between the members of the British clan. But Middleton made sure to make Prince Harry feel at home. The in-laws were seen chatting and smiling at each other.
And years before Prince Harry met his wife, he was known as the royal third wheel because he was always with Prince William and Middleton.
“Kate is also nurturing and she and William had children before Harry so ‘Uncle Harry’ was very much part of the family in those early years. There was absolutely nothing to suggest there were any underlying resentments or difficulties. William and Harry didn’t agree on everything but in Kate, Harry had someone with who he could really open his heart, share dilemmas, and ask for advice,” the source said.
So, even though there’s no indication that Prince Harry regretted his interview with Winfrey, Larcombe said that he believes the last person that he wanted to be dragged into it was Middleton.
Kate Middleton Really Upset With The Sussexes, Royal Family’s Ongoing Rift
Last year, a source told People that the ongoing rift between the Sussexes and the royal family has really upset Middleton.
“Everything with Harry and Meghan has been hugely stressful, but if anything, it’s pulled [her and William] closer together. She was upset about it because [William] was so upset. Seeing her husband so distraught was tough,” the source said.
According to reports, Prince Harry and Middleton had no other choice but to drift apart because the latter never became close with Markle.
In the book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand explained the relationship between the sisters-in-law.
“Meghan would agree with the assessment that the duchesses were not the best of friends. Their relationship hadn’t progressed much since she was Harry’s girlfriend,” they wrote.
Additionally, the two women didn’t also have much in common other than the fact that they used to live at Kensington Palace.
