Meghan Markle and the royal family have reportedly made some progress as they try to repair their broken relationship. As such, royal experts are convinced that Prince Harry and Markle could make a public appearance at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee after the monarch invited her grandson to attend the celebration.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Won’t Attend Trooping The Colour

However, royal expert Cameron Walker said that the public shouldn’t mistake the queen’s efforts to extend an olive at Prince Harry and Markle as her way of welcoming the couple back into the fold. After all, the Sussexes were invited to the queen’s Platinum Jubilee only because Her Majesty sees this as a family event and not a public one.

“Reports do suggest that Harry and Meghan have been invited to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Platinum Jubilee celebrations. We know that Prince Harry and Meghan met the Queen on Thursday, it's been dubbed an olive branch meeting, trying to make amends. I think it's public versus family events. The appearance on the balcony at Buckingham Palace is very much a family event, or at least the Queen sees it as a family event. Similar to the service of thanksgiving we're expecting at St Paul's Cathedral on that Platinum Jubilee weekend in June,” Walker said (via Express).

However, the Platinum Jubilee is the only chance royal fans could catch a glimpse of Prince Harry and Markle. If the Sussexes decide to attend the event, they will join the royal family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

“But I don't think we'd expect to see Prince Harry and Meghan at things like Trooping the Colour because that is very much public and attended by senior working members of the Royal Family. We don't have any confirmation on this but I think it's a sign that the Royal Family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are perhaps starting to make amends,” Walker said.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Late For Their Meeting With Prince Charles

Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines recently after it was revealed that they had the opportunity to meet with Prince Charles. However, royal biographer Angela Levin criticized the couple for reportedly arriving late to their meaning even if they knew they had limited time with the heir to the throne.

“Well, they arrived late for their meeting with Prince Charles so they had a brief ten minutes together. The Duchess of Cornwall was there so that there was no disagreement about who said what. Charles and she had to go off to the Maundy celebrations and so they weren't there for very long,” Levin said.

Despite the ongoing tensions within the royal family, royal fans are still hoping that the day would come when everyone could reconcile and reunite.

Meanwhile, Markle also made headlines this week after it was revealed that she returned to the United States much earlier than expected because she missed her two children. The Duchess of Sussex joined Prince Harry on this trip to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games last week.

Samantha Markle Wants To Reconcile With Meghan Markle

Following her trip, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle also said that she was willing to mend bridges with the Duchess of Sussex. The two have been feuding ever since Markle and Prince Harry started dating. Throughout the past couple of years, Samantha has said a number of hurtful things about her half-sister.

“If you are a humanitarian and a compassionate person and all these things you claim to be, you listen to your family and you try to think, 'what do we need to do to have a meeting of the minds? Let's resolve conflicts, let's be adults about this, and let's show that we are bigger people,’” Samantha said (via The News).

However, it’s unlikely for Markle to reciprocate Samantha’s efforts to reach out. After all, she previously said that she was never close to her half-siblings and that she grew up as an only child.
