Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just dropped a new portrait days after a photo of King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton were released. However, there’s no indication that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex deliberately tried to upstage the new Fab Four with their snap.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle No Longer Coordinate Their Activities With The Royal Family
According to Daily Mail, the timing of the release of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s photo just proves that they no longer coordinate their activities with the royal family. This means that the Sussexes did not have any idea that a portrait of the Fab Four would be released this week, so they might have scheduled theirs around the same time.
In the photo taken by celebrity photographer Misan Harriman, Markle is wearing a red long-sleeved blouse, pants, and scarf. She is standing an inch in front of Prince Harry, who is in his suit. The couple also holds hands in their portrait.
A second photo of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was also released this week, and it features the couple standing beside each other. But this time around, the Duke of Sussex seems to be leading his wife since he’s standing an inch in front of her.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Did Not Try To Upstage The Fab Four’s New Portrait With Their Own Photo
Prince Harry and Markle’s new portrait was taken last month during the One Young World Summit. At the time, the couple was in the United Kingdom for a series of engagements.
The new Fab Four’s portrait, on the other hand, was taken by Getty photographer Chris Jackson and it was snapped during Queen Elizabeth’s pre-funeral dinner on Sept. 18. The photo was taken during the reception held with some heads of state.
The Fab Four’s portrait shows all four senior royals smiling even though it was taken during their mourning period following Her Majesty’s death. And according to the publication, this proved that the monarchy never rests regardless of what happens.
“The message, if one was needed, was clear: the business of monarchy never rests, even at times of great personal sorrow, and its enduring strength lies in its continuity,” the publication noted.

Meanwhile, even though there’s no indication that Prince Harry and Markle tried to upstage the Fab Four with their new portrait, the couple has been accused of doing this in the past.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their Megxit around the time of Middleton’s birthday in 2020. And they also shared the news of Markle’s first pregnancy during Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding.
