Pokemon Go Code Hints Reveal Ditto, Tracker Tweaks & More

The newest update for Pokemon Go has been rolled out. And while there aren't a lot of new features visible, fans have noticed some visible changes in the code that could hint at what's to come.

Among these is another hint that Ditto may be coming very soon to the game. The Silph Road has compiled all the sighted changes in the game, highlighting that Ditto has already shown up in the code. This is what the report has to say:

"Ditto appears to be ‘encounterable' in the wild. It is not clear whether this is enabled yet, or whether it will appear as Ditto before capture, but the species is almost certainly ‘capturable' (as opposed to acquirable only through non-wild encounter)."

In addition, there are already some sound effects spotted for Ditto, as well as a background graphic in deep purple.

What I'm actually curious is how we'll be able to encounter Ditto. Considering that it's essentially a shape-shifter, does that mean we might have to face off against that kind of power?

The Nearby Tracker may also have seen some tweaks with the latest update. While the feature is still in testing, one of the feature that was spotted was the automatic hiding of Sightings when there is a minimum number of Pokemon nearby.

This does sound convenient, though hopefully, this minimum number of ‘mons is only a single one. This may be Niantic's way of improving the feature, but it has to make sure that it does not take away from the player's experience, as an important Pokemon may appear while the new hide Sightings feature is enforced.

Finally, the last bit of interesting tidbit (though still highly unproven) is the fact that Shinies may have been sighted in Pokemon Go. The only clue for this is the sighted phrases "Shiny" and "Rare" in the APK, so this last part should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

In any case, Niantic did state that it's aiming to release as many features in the coming months. With Christmas rolling in just a few, let's cross our fingers that there will be a similar yet bigger event coming our way.
