Pokemon Go Added Another Secret Back in the Halloween Event

Love it or hate it, Pokemon Go doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Especially not when developer Niantic Labs dropped another hint of a secret lurking in the game.

And before you say that it's the nasty unmentioned speed lock change, it doesn't seem to be the case, as the secret had been apparently added way back during the Halloween event. Speaking to GamesRadar, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke teased that fans should try to look for the secret, as he won't be giving any clues.

"There will always be secrets in the game that no one has found because we're always adding new secrets to the game. There's one out there right now and we'll see how that plays out over the course of the next few weeks."

There were previous hints that Ditto and some Gen 2 Pokemon may have already joined the game. Of course, this has yet to be truly proven beyond datamined information. There's also the new bonus quests, but that was announced as one of the bigger updates.

Personally, I would prefer to see them fix the Nearby Tracker and the speed lock mechanics. As a commuter, I understand the pain of not being able to play while you wade through the traffic. Not everyone has the luxury of long walks around town on weekends, so to remove a feature that could otherwise let more players keep their games open seems like a three-steps-backward move for the new update.

I'm still crossing my fingers for a kickass Christmas Pokemon Go event. Perhaps we'll finally get word on our team's Legendary birds? Real-time PvP battles? More PokeStops in all areas? The list for improvements goes on—this much isn't a secret.
